Ghost Recon: Future Soldier ภาคนี้กล่าวถึงประธานาธิบดีของรัสเซียถูกลักพาตัวโดยผู้ก่อการร้ายหัวรุนแรง ผู้เล่นจะต้องตามหาผู้บงการที่อยู่เบื้องหลังการลักพาตัวและคุ้มครองผู้นำ รัสเซียให้ได้ ภาคนี้ได้นำเสนอด้านเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ของทหารรบอันสุดล้ำสมัยเพื่อรบกับผู้ ก่อการร้ายที่เป็นภัยต่อความมั่นคง
ผู้เล่นจะต้องต่อสู้ศัตรูภายในฉากที่ประจัน หน้าและซุ่มโจมตี โดยร่วมต่อสู้เคียงบ่าเคียงไหล่กับทหารรบสมัยใหม่ในภาค Future Soldier จำนวน 4 คน ด้วยความสามารถของทหารทั่วไป ผู้เล่นสามารถวิ่งเข้าหาที่กำบัง สไลด์ศัตรูล้มลง และข้ามสิ่งกีดขวางได้ รวมไปถึงการต่อสู้ด้วยมือเปล่าที่รวบรวมกระบวนท่าการต่อสู้หลากหลายรูปแบบ ที่น่าสนใจคือทหารทุกนายมีสายรัดขาแบบพิเศษที่สามารถเคลื่อนที่เดินหน้า อย่างกระฉับกระเฉงว่องไว
